My Ideal Classroom

An example of an art class
My ideal classroom is something that would take a while for me to create for it is a high school art class that I would like to have. I would have a main classroom, but also a relaxing room as an open edition to the classroom. It would be a sort of break room/ creativity room where students can go to read if they are done with their work and brainstorm for more ideas. With the classroom set up as it is, I want to eliminate the feeling room being cluttered, overly crowded, and get rid of any negative feelings that the students would bring into the class from their previous classes. In order to attain this environment, every student is seated at a table that is combined with another table to create more room for them to work on their projects. I would place chairs around the table according to how I would want them to sit for I would not like anyone showing their back to me. I would want the students to interact with one another and gather creative ideas from each other. In the relaxing room there are three bean bag chairs so the students may rest or begin creative thinking for their next art project. In order to get the student’s creative juices flowing, art work would be hung around the room on the walls. In the relaxing room there will be different types of art such as: still life, cartoon, sketches, paintings, etc… In the main classroom on the walls will be drawings from the students to encourage them and give them more artistic ideas. Lastly there are drawings by me right behind the desk to show that I actually know what I am teaching. My desk is put in the corner to make the classroom appear less boring and to have a better view of the students. Every little thing in the room plays a part in what my ideal classroom would be like. A great classroom is a great way to help the student AIM FOR THE STARS!
