My Year As An Intern

This year as an intern has been one of my most adventurous one yet. I was able to ecperience many things that every day teachers would have to go through. I experienced how a terrible day is when the students wouldn't listen to. How they keep on making trouble no matter what, and how they would get on the last nerve of a teacher before they explode. I've also had the chance to experience how a parent would react when they didn't meet eye to eye with a teacher. The conflict that grows throughout the year along with the stress too. Nausea grows as time goes by when students don't listen to you. The sick feeling you get when you feel you aren't making any progress with the students gets to you. The teachers go though a lot, and this seemed to the hardest many have said. I thought that I would end up having the students behave badly until the school ended, but that wasn't the case.
Even though there were lots of downs, I had also had my moments with my teacher and students in the class. Just like when they choose a day or week of not listening, they also choose days of when they are angels. When I would teach something fun, everyone would listen intentively and participate in what I'm doing. Many also seemed eager to learn which lifts your heart up. The good, it seemed, always weighed out the bad. When the students tell you they love you or that you are great, it makes up for most of the bad part.
This experience had made me certain that I have chosen the correct career path, and I will not sway from it. I had learned from my mentor on how strongly things need to be corrected. Even though I don't believe in some of her methods of class management, I do see where she is  coming from, and I will learn to try to make sure that my class methods would not be so hard or too soft.
I wish that I had participated more in teaching my class, but the experience was really great. Next year I will try harder to captivate my students more in what they are learning and try to keep them out of trouble as well.
