Anyone have an iPad, droid, or a technology that has apps yet? If so then how many of you know how to create an app? The article Article From eClassroom News is all about how this one high school math teacher was able to create an app for his students. The app he created had allowed the students to be able to add comment to any kinds of files like to PDFs, PowerPoint, etc. This kind of app is really helpful to students of every grade.
If I had known about to make an app then I probably would've made one for my classroom. It is hard to find games or fun activities for the students to engage in and at the same time help them learn. If I can I would make an app of an animal food chain for science or a quick restaurant game to help the students with their math when it came to paying the bill. This is what I would use an app for. Other than making an app for anything else... I wouldn't because I am lazy.

Beyond the Blackboard
Have any of you ever seen the movie Beyond the Blackboard? I did... three times to be exact, and it is an amazing movie. I would recommend reading the book first because it is more in-depth, but if time isn't on your side then the movie would be the next great big choice.
What I've seen in the movie is Stacy Bess has to overcome obstacles such as having to teach first to sixth grade all at the same time. Another obstacle was that at the beginning Stacy Bess didn't have any teaching materials, and what kind of teacher teaches without anything to teach with? I give her props because I doubt not many of us could have done what she did.
I am planning on teaching art in high school, and let me tell you... It would be really difficult to teach how to draw if I didn't have penicls or papers fort the students to use. Probably what I would've done was just teach them verbally. I have to think about what would I do if that did actually happen to me. Anyone have any ideas?

The Advantages of Technology in the Classroom
In the article I had read, Advantages of Technology in Classrooms, lists about five different advantages of why it is helpful to have technology in the classroom. The following reasons are what the author Eric Schreiner gave:
1) Made accessing information easier
2) Allowed us to easily edit our essays
3) Provided supplementary information
4) Made communications between two people faster
5) Motivated students to learn more and have fun
All of these advantages are great reasons for why every class should have technology in some way. It catches the eye of students much better than books or old projectors. I know that it caught my eye many times. With the new technology like the smart boards students enjoy watching what the teachers are doing with it, so they learn better. I was able to learn more about computer science when my teacher used the smart board because it didn't make me fall asleep. Another reason why technology is so great is because it helps the students be more creative with their work and helps them AIM FOR THE STARS.
